Connecticut's Hispanic Population Climbs Above 500,000

The state’s Hispanic population has climbed above 500,000 and is growing at a rate 12 times faster than the general population.

According to census data from 2012, Connecticut’s Hispanic population for the first time hit the half million mark, with 510,645 Latinos living in the state, according to new figures released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Hartford Courant reports.
