Mika Brzezinski admitted that she was "probably guilty" of being hypocritical when it came to the Obama administration's NSA scandals.
The "Morning Joe" host was responding to a charge from Joe Scarborough that she had changed her views on domestic surveillance since the years of the Bush administration. (Brzezinski has clashed repeatedly with critics of the Obama programs, including Glenn Greenwald.)
"Liberals were saying for years how evil George Bush and Dick Cheney were," Scarborough said. "Now that Barack Obama is doing it, a lot are saying and you seem to be saying, 'much ado about nothing.'"
"I think this is one of those issues where most people at this point want it done," Brzezinski said.
The two sparred over it for a little while, with Brzezinski saying that the "whole atmosphere was completely different" during the Bush administration. Ultimately, she allowed that her views might have changed.
"I understand the hypocrisy you talk about and I'm probably guilty of it," she said. "So I don't want to start a fight here."
