River Oaks Home In Houston, Texas Is A Fine Example Of Colonial-Style Architecture (PHOTOS)

Isn't everything bigger in Texas?

Ranked by Bloomberg Businessweek in 2011 as the seventh most expensive housing block in the US, it's no surprise that River Oaks is home to many beautiful properties. Nestled in the center of Houston proper, the homes that line these streets are typically American-colonial. So when we came across a house tour of one of these stunners, we knew we had to share it with you.

According to the Houston Chronicle, this house sits on one and a half acres of prime property in Houston...featur[ing] four bedrooms and six bathrooms in more than 8,800 square-feet of living space." The massive size is impressive, but no surprise there. (Isn't everything bigger in Texas?) What really amazed us was how loyal the spaces were to their architectural roots.

The traditional feel flows through the house, from the stately presence of the exterior's four pillars to the elegantly designed interiors. The entire space reminds us of Southern living. But that's just us. Let us know what you think in the comments.
