- Calgary, Alberta was hit with severe flooding that killed three and forced 75,000 people from their homes.
- A record-breaking heat wave struck Alaska, with recorded temperatures reaching as high as 20 degrees Fahrenheit above normal.
- Massive flooding across northern India killed at least 1,000 people. Torrential rains triggered landslides that cut off access routes and communication to high mountain passes inundated with thousands of religious travelers.
- One person was killed Friday evening after a fast-moving line of storms made its way through South Dakota.
