Malachi Samedy, 9, has been drumming since before he could walk. He got his first drum set at 24 months, was admitted to music school at age 4, and by the time he was 7, he was close to realizing his dream of performing for President Obama.
"When he was younger, he would just bang on everything," Malachi's father, Nasser Samedy, says in this HooplaHa video, "My wife was saying, 'You know, he's a drummer.'"
Malachi has been wowing older professional musicians with his talent ever since. What's more, he's using his talent to bring attention to causes that matter.
"Since the age of five Malachi has visited children's locations sharing his music and message of 'All things are possible' and 'You're stronger than your circumstances,'" his website states.
He performed at fundraisers for Haiti and Japan, and in 2011, CNBC asked Malachi to perform at the "Night Of Hope" benefit to promote child safety around the country, after which he was invited to play for the president.
He tweeted last year:
My rehearsal was awesome and I will change the world with my music.
