Amos Wells III Charged With Killing Pregnant Girlfriend, Her Brother And Her Mother In Fort Worth

Man Tells Police He 'Did Something Bad' After Killing Pregnant Girlfriend

A pregnant 21-year-old woman, her younger brother and her mom were killed Monday, allegedly by the expectant mom's boyfriend.

Amos Wells III, 22, reportedly walked into a police station on July 1, saying he "did something bad." It was about an hour after he arrived at the Fort Worth, Texas home of his girlfriend Chanice Reed, who was due to give birth to their son in about a month, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Police say he shot Reed's 39-year-old mother Annette Reed at about 6:15 p.m. during a confrontation in the yard, family members of the victims said to station KXAS. Then, Wells allegedly shot his girlfriend several times at her front door.

Eddie McCuin, 10, was Wells' last victim. The boy was shot three times, relatives told KXAS.

The shooting victims died at different area hospitals. Doctors were also unable to save Reed's unborn child, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Forest Hill police arrested Wells when he walked into their station around 7:15 p.m. and allegedly admitted to the slayings. He was charged with capital murder and is locked in the Mansfield city jail on a $2 million bond.

"No one deserved what happened," said Wells in a jailhouse interview with KXAS. "It shouldn't happen. It should never even have happened."

Wells has been in trouble with the law before. In 2009 and 2011, he was accused of assault, CBS' Dalas station KTVT reports.

Relatives and friends of the victims rushed to the crime scene Monday and tore through the police tape, instigating a confrontation with police. KDFW reports that officers wrestled two of the people to the ground and detained them before releasing them.
