In a clear message to future opponents, Mayor Rahm Emanuel sharply ramped up his fundraising in the last quarter and now has $4.025 million in the bank — twice what he had in March.

According to sources close to Mr. Emanuel, his Citizens for Rahm Emanuel Committee pulled in $2.2 million in the quarter ended June 30. He spent almost none of it, instead adding the receipts to the $1.908 million he had in March.
