One person has been killed and at least four more were injured when an alleged drunk driver crashed into pedestrians after the Grand Lake Fireworks Extravaganza Thursday night.
According to a report by 7News, several people -- including children -- crossing Highway 34 were struck just after the July 4 show by a white pick-up truck.
Authorities now say the 33-year-old driver has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and vehicular homicide. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Trooper Josh Lewis, a Public Information Officer with the Colorado State Patrol, told 9News the victims' ages range from 3 - 48 years old.
"Once the investigation is complete, there will be additional charges," Lewis told The Denver Post.
The victims were flown to different area hospitals and the highway was closed down for several hours before being reopened around 3 a.m.
