What is going on here?
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Chris Weidman knocked out opponent Anderson Silva during UFC 162 this past Saturday night, but it was the kiss before the fist that has gotten people talking online.
At the public weigh-in on Friday night, Weidman and Silva approached each other and put their lips up against one another and seemed to... kiss. Perhaps it was a test of masculinity or intimidation, but regardless, the crowd went wild and the Internet has been abuzz ever since.
This isn't UFC's first time in the ring with the gay community. Liz Carmouche became the first openly gay UFC fighter in December 2012 and Matt Mitrione, another fighter, was suspended after a rant against Fallon Fax, a Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter who recently came out as transgender.
Does this count as a kiss? What do you think? Weigh in on the weigh-in in the comments below!
