Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) mocked Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) during a Monday appearance on Fox News.

Paul -- who has recently attempted to woo voters in several key 2016 states -- poked fun at a potential Perry presidential run.

"Well, I don’t know about what I’ve decided yet, but if Governor Perry decides to run for president, I think there are three good reasons he could be president,” Paul told Sean Hannity. “You know, Texas is a big, successful state; he’s a long-term governor — I can’t remember the third one, but, uh.”

Paul's comments mocked Perry's famous flub in a November 2011 GOP debate where promised to eliminate three federal government agencies, but could only remember two.

Both Paul and Perry are seen as potential 2016 Republican presidential contenders, but neither has announced any plans to run for president. Paul has said he will run for Senate in 2016, and Perry announced Monday that he would not seek reelection in 2014.
