NASA Rejection Letter From 1962 Claims 'No Plans' For Woman Astronauts

PHOTO: How NASA Responded To One Woman In 1962

NASA made headlines recently for an amazing letter they sent to a 7-year-old boy, but their correspondence hasn't always been so encouraging.

This week, Redditor come_on_now_guys posted this letter, allegedly sent from NASA to a young woman at the University of Connecticut in 1962:

Miss Kelly isn't the only 60s woman who wanted to make it into space -- Hillary Clinton wrote a letter to NASA as a young teenager, asking them what she needed to do to become an astronaut. She supposedly received a similar response.

We're very glad NASA has since changed their stance on female astronauts.
