UPDATE: 12:24 p.m. -- The Los Angeles Times confirmed Lil Twist was arrested in Calabasas Thursday morning by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies after he ran a red light near the intersection of Parkway Calabasas and Camino Porto while driving almost 70 mph.
"He was stopped and he was arrested for driving under the influence of marijuana," sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore told the L.A. Times.
He was en route to a street leading to Justin Bieber's gated community.
Justin Bieber's sidekick Lil Twist was reportedly arrested for driving under the influence early Thursday morning, according to TMZ.
TMZ reports Twist, whose real name is Christopher Lynn Moore, was pulled over around 3:30 a.m. in Calabasas, Calif., for speeding while driving Bieber's Fisker Karma. When police approached the vehicle, they noticed the 20-year-old appeared to be under the influence, but he did not appear drunk. He was arrested and booked for DUI.
This is not the first time the aspiring recording artist has gotten into car trouble.
Lil Twist was supposedly spotted smoking marijuana while driving the pop star's Ferrari in Los Angeles back in January, the New York Daily News notes. Paparazzo Chris Guerra began following the car, thinking Bieber was behind the wheel, and wound up getting fatally struck by an oncoming car.
In March, he was pulled over on the 101 Freeway for making an unsafe lane change and then cited for tinted windows, TMZ previously reported.
Despite the vehicular incidents, The Biebs is super tight with Moore.
"Justin is like one of my best friends," he told Hip Hollywood earlier this year. "We met through a mutual friend in Atlanta at one of our homie's cribs. We just got cool. Ever since then we were on UStream and stuff. Then he shot "Baby." We just continued to build our [bond] as a friendship."
