A mother in Westwood, Mass., is accused of attacking her 9-year-old daughter with electric hedge clippers.
Maureen Mullin, 39, was arrested Monday around 5:00 a.m., WCVB reported. According to court documents, her husband, Anthony Mullin, awoke to hear his daughter yelling, "Why are you doing this, Mommy?"
Anthony Mullin told police he saw his wife pointing the electric hedge clippers at the head of their daughter, who was covered in blood. He wrestled the clippers away from the woman before calling 911.
When officers arrived, Maureen Mullin was repeatedly saying, "I just wanted us all to be together," according to a report obtained by the Boston Globe.
"There was an extensive amount of blood on the floor, walls, and bedding of the girl’s bedroom," the report also noted,
The girl suffered injuries to her face and one finger. Maureen Mullin was also injured. Both are expected to fully recover, according to CBS Boston.

The couple's other child, age 5, was not hurt.
Maureen Mullin was charged with attempted murder, mayhem, assault and battery on a child with injury.
