Prince Charles' Royal Baby Arrival Reaction Is 'Overjoyed'

Prince Charles 'Overjoyed' To Be A Grandfather

In case you were under a rock today: Kate Middleton gave birth to a baby boy this afternoon.

Even though the world (aka Twittersphere) is joining in on the celebration, Prince Charles made sure to let everyone know how "overjoyed" he is at the arrival of his first grandson. Clarence House released this statement today:

“Both my wife and I are overjoyed at the arrival of my first grandchild. It is an incredibly special moment for William and Catherine and we are so thrilled for them on the birth of their baby boy.

Grandparenthood is a unique moment in anyone’s life, as countless kind people have told me in recent months, so I am enormously proud and happy to be a grandfather for the first time and we are eagerly looking forward to seeing the baby in the near future.”

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall were out of town on an official visit to Yorkshire today when Kate went into labor at St Mary's Hospital. From the folks here at HuffPost, we send our congratulations to everyone in the royal family!

The baby's going to be a looker!
