David Denman Joins 'Parenthood': Will 'Office' Star Threaten Joel And Julia's Marriage In Season 5?

'Office' Star Joins 'Parenthood'

It looks like Joel and Julia are in for a rocky ride on the upcoming season of "Parenthood."

According to E! Online, David Denman -- who played Pam's (Jenna Fischer) fiance Roy on "The Office" -- will get to know Julia (Erika Christensen) a lot better this season when he steps into the role of Ed, a stay-at-home dad who lands at the same volunteer group as Julia at their kids' school.

But Ed isn't the only Season 5 threat to Joel and Julia's marriage. Earlier this month, TVLine reported that "Lost" actress Sonya Walger was joining the series as Meredith, a "sexy, confident fireball of an architect" working with Joel.

It looks like Lauren Graham's character Sarah will see a love life shakeup as well: Not only is Sarah's Season 4 love interest Hank (Ray Romano) back for more, but "Drop Dead Diva" alum Josh Stamberg will recur on the series as Carl, who is described as "a charming and fun new addition in Sarah's building."

"Parenthood" returns for Season 5 on Thursday, September 26 at 10 p.m. ET.
