Musician and producer Kevin Rudolf gained acclaim after "Let It Rock," his collaboration with Lil Wayne, became a hit in 2008. Now Rudolf is back on the scene with "Here's To Us," the lead single from his upcoming third album.
Rudolf chatted with HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill about the new song and how it allows fans to see him in a different way.
"A lot of people know me for the Cash Money association," he said. "I would never take anything way from that, but I wanted to show a new side of myself and show the more singer-songwriter side of myself, with a focus on lyrics, and kind of step out from behind the production."
Rudolf also discussed the wide array of musicians he's worked with, a list that encompasses everything from rap to country, and he revealed the biggest name he would love to collaborate with -- U2, who he called his "childhood kind of heroes."
