For her first-ever presentation at swim week, Nanette Lepore took over a temporary runway built in the pool at the SLS Hotel on South Beach -- and her chic, patterned collection was equally as versatile.
Suits came in just about every style, from bandeau to halter to maillot; coverups came in the form of matching harem pants, a short crotched pullover dress, a flowing maxi dress, and a vivid orange Moroccan-style short caftan. There were even long- and short-sleeved rash guards in Lepore's signature prints.
"What's nice with swim is it's blurring into real clothing now," Lepore told the Associated Press. What we loved most? Her third swim collection was modern and decidedly sexy but with an obvious attention to what women actually want in swimwear, in sharp contrast to the skimpier cuts and gratuitous amounts of flesh on display elsewhere.
