Rosamund Pike Offered 'Gone Girl' Role; Neil Patrick Harris & Tyler Perry Sought For Supporting Roles In David Fincher Film

GO 'GIRL'!

Rosamund Pike has been offered the lead role in "Gone Girl," this according to The Hollywood Reporter. Pike would play Amy Dunne, the duplicitous wife of the equally duplicitous Nick Dunne (Ben Affleck) in the film for director David Fincher.

What's more, THR reports that Neil Patrick Harris and Tyler Perry have been added to the roster of possible supporting players in "Gone Girl." The prospect of Perry and Affleck, both filmmakers themselves, being paired with Fincher immediately make this project even more intriguing than any normal adaptation. (What tricks will the actors learn from Fincher, and vice versa?) "Gone Girl" is based on the crazy best-selling book from Gillian Flynn.

As previously reported, actresses like Natalie Portman, Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron and Abbie Cornish were considered for the big role. More on Pike's casting and the project can be found at THR.
