Federal gridlock has offered a new set of challenges and opportunities for state officials. The Aspen Institute hosts a conversation featuring four Republican governors including Governor Chris Christie of New Jersey, Governor Bobby Jindal of Louisiana, Governor Mike Pence of Indiana, and Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin to talk about how each of their states are responding to some of the most pressing issues of our time. The Institute's McCloskey Speaker Series hosts this annual event, as well as the Democratic Governors panel held on July 13, 2013, as part of a longstanding summer series of wide-ranging discussions on US public affairs issues such as leadership and decision-making, the strength of the national economy and more. Featuring distinguished speakers who have far-reaching impacts on society, the series is made possible by a generous donation from the McCloskey Family Charitable Foundation.
