Wilmer Valderrama Says TV Industry 'Tiptoes' Around Diversity Problem

Television has certainly been good to Wilmer Valderrama. For eight seasons, he made a bundle playing Fez on That 70’s Show. But this week, he took aim at network execs for ignoring the Latino community.

Valderrama was speaking on a PBS TCA panel on Wednesday, when a question came up about television diversity.

“When I first joined That ‘70s Show I was the only Latino on the Fox network,” he said. “I think the industry really wants to embrace [Latinos], but they tiptoe and try not to alienate the existing audience.”
