A new season of "Duck Dynasty" kicked off, and it did so with heart and laughter. After nearly 49 years of marriage, Phil revealed that he and Kay never actually had a proper wedding. So Willie's wife, Korie, decided that a great anniversary present for the couple would be to throw them a vow renewal ceremony.
At the ceremony, Kay told Phil, "I will love you forever.”
Phil countered with a short, but sweet, vow of his own. "You are my best friend, and I love you dearly, and I’m going to be with you for the long haul, until they put me in the ground. Good?”
“Perfect," Kay said.
Then Phil slid a ring on her finger. "I’m sorry to say I didn’t have that when we first married.” The couple kissed and the family partied, because that's one of the best parts about weddings -- and vow renewal ceremonies.
Zap2It's Molly Chance was impressed with Phil's vow, writing that it was far more sentimental than you'd expect out of a Robertson man.
Writing for The AV Club, Scott Von Doviak said that "the popularity of the series really isn’t that hard to understand: It’s a family show offering likable characters and a few laughs, and there’s always been a place in prime time for that.”
Season 4 of A&E's smash reality hit, "Duck Dynasty," continues every Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET.
