Hutton Wilkinson, Interior Designer, Shares His Excessively Ornate Beverly Hills Home (PHOTOS)

Designer Hutton Wilkinson may be known for many things, but minimalism definitely isn't one of them. In fact, he takes pride in his "excessive" style. He shares his own over-the-top 4,000-square-foot Venetian-styled home in the September/October issue of VERANDA.

It is evident from his rooms that he is partial to deep vivid jewel tones and ornate gold accessories. With the addition of animal prints, painted murals and velvet furnishings, it's impossible to decide what to look at first. Unique collectables from a range of time periods and places all over the world, like coral branches that once belonged to Elsie de Wolfe, fill every inch of space.

Wilkinson worked with celebrated designer Tony Duquette for much of his career, and now also owns the next door home of his late partner who was known to throw parties for notable guests like Elizabeth Taylor and Princess Grace. The two properties share an exquisite patio surrounding a tranquil infinity pool -- the most amazing setting for Wilkinson to carry on Duquette's entertaining legacy.

Make sure to pick up a copy of the September/October issue of VERANDA to see the full story.
