Two-time Olympian Rebecca Adlington took to Twitter on Monday night in distress, tweeting that her Olympic medals had been stolen during a burglary. The retired 24-year-old British swimmer won two gold medals at the Beijing Games and two bronze in London.

Fortunately, Adlington later tweeted that the medals were found although a car remained missing. Adlington tweeted about the burglary and even fired back at responses she received joking about the burglary (it's the Internet so of course there were negative responses).

In absolute pieces. Some bastards have broken into my house and stolen my Olympic medals!!! Something I will never be able to replace!
