Dr. Luke Joins 'American Idol' As Season 13 Judge (REPORT)

Dr. Luke is a new "American Idol" judge, according to reports.

UPDATE, 8/27: Dr. Luke will not be joining "American Idol," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

E! Online reports Dr. Luke -- real name Lukasz Gottwald -- will sit alongside Keith Urban and Jennifer Lopez when "American Idol" returns for Season 13. So far Urban is the only judge Fox announced as being part of Season 13, but rumors of Lopez's return to "American Idol" have been swirling for months. Lopez's boyfriend, Casper Smart, confirmed her involvement with the Fox singing competition.

Dr. Luke was lead guitarist on "Saturday Night Live" for 10 seasons. He went on to become a songwriter, producer and owner of two publishing houses, Kasz Money Publishing and Prescription Songs. Dr. Luke co-wrote Kelly Clarkson's "Since U Been Gone" and worked with Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Britney Spears and more of today's top musicians.

Deadline and Us Weekly also assert Dr. Luke will judge "American Idol" Season 13.

Fox declined to comment on the report.

"American Idol" returns to Fox winter 2014.
