Howard Kurtz's Fox News media show will air directly opposite his old CNN media show.
The former "Reliable Sources" host and Daily Beast writer—who jumped to Fox News after leaving and being fired from his old jobs, respectively—announced Monday that, as promised, he will be hosting a weekend program dedicated to the media. It's called "MediaBuzz":
My new Fox show is called Media Buzz, and excited to announce the launch will be Sunday morning, Sept. 8, at 11 am eastern.
— HowardKurtz (@HowardKurtz) August 26, 2013
11 AM Eastern happens to be exactly when "Reliable Sources" airs. That show has continued in Kurtz's absence, with a rotating cast of guest hosts.
There's been little detail about what the show will look like, but Lauren Ashburn, who has worked closely, and somewhat controversially, with Kurtz on his various media ventures, will be a regular contributor.
Clarification: Language in this story has been updated to reflect that Kurtz was only fired from the Daily Beast. The circumstances surrounding his departure from CNN were different, as he was reportedly offered a contract.
