The One Skincare Ingredient You Need To Fight Wrinkles

Reading the labels on beauty products isn't always so easy, especially when they include unpronounceable and potentially hazardous ingredients. But if you're searching for the one skincare ingredient you need to fight wrinkles, scan the packaging for the word "peptides."

Peptides are molecular links of amino acids that help your skin to produce the anti-wrinkle protein known as collagen. The box or bottle may also read "soy or copper peptides" or just straight-up say "amino acids," PopSugar Beauty reporter Kirbie Johnson explains in the video above.

To give you a leg up at the beauty counter, Johnson recommends three peptides-infused skincare products:

For under-eyes... Try Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Serum. It contains soy peptides (helps to de-puff eyes) and vitamin K (an essential vitamin that brightens dark circles).

For acne scars... Pick up POE Super Charged Copper Serum. The tiny bottle boasts a non-greasy formula made up of copper, zinc, magnesium and hyaluronic acid that tones skin, heals scar tissue and builds collagen.

For the entire face... Smooth on Korres Quercetin & Oak Instant Wrinkle Filler. It includes a natural form of retinol that zeros in on wrinkles, and Johnson also recommends using as a makeup primer to get that airbrushed look.

Do you buy into the hype over peptides?

At least these products are cheaper than any of these:
