Hillary Mann Leverett, Middle East Analyst, Smacks Down MSNBC Panel On Syria (VIDEO)

WATCH: MSNBC Panel Schooled On Syria

If you're discussing Syria, you probably want Hillary Mann Leverett in your corner.

The Middle East analyst, who has ties to both the Bush and Clinton administrations, delivered an astounding verbal smackdown on MSNBC's "Up With Steve Kornacki" recently when pundits were comparing the war in Iraq to recent events in Syria.

After Josh Rogin of the Newsweek/The Daily Beast suggested that "we can't connect" President Barack Obama's current stance on Syria to American military intervention in Iraq or Kosovo, Leverett directly cut down Rogin's claims.

"It is strikingly similar to the lead up to the war in Iraq," the American University senior lecturer said, before launching into an anecdote about her time in the Bush administration. "Nobody is asking this basic question, except for our friends in Moscow: What if Assad didn't order this? What if this wasn't a Syrian troop chemical attack? What if this was perpetrated by al-Qaeda affiliated oppositionists?"

Things get a bit heated as Leverett, who also serves as the chief executive officer of risk consulting firm STRATEGA, continues on to bring up other salient points.
