Adult Film Star Kelly Shibari Says Parents Shouldn't Do Porn Because Of Long Hours (VIDEO)

The Surprising Reason This Adult Film Star Says Parents Shouldn't Do Porn

A group of women who work in the adult film industry chatted with HuffPost Live's Marc Lamont Hill about the psychology behind sex-related work and how parenting choices can potentially push children toward pornography later in life.

One of the panelists, plus-size porn actress Kelly Shibari, said she feels any parent with children younger than 18 years old should not work in adult film for a very surprising reason.

"Any sort of adult entertainment is, as far as I'm concerned, an extremely selfish line of work, just in the requirements or the hours that are given to you," she said.

Shibari explained that it would be nearly impossible to spend quality time with a child while making evening appearances and fulfilling other time-consuming requirements that it takes to be a successful adult film actress. "It has very little do with sex and more to do with the availability that you should be there for your children," she said.

The discussion was spurred by a HuffPost blog called "Why Your Daughter Wants To Be A Porn Star." In it, former porn actress Jessica Ketcham outlines things parents do today that could lead their children to a career in adult entertainment as they grow older.
