Sea level rise may be the main force driving beach erosion in Hawaii, new research suggests. Shorelines naturally change through time as a result of many factors, including changes in sea level, ocean currents and the strength of waves, all of which control the amount of sand brought to beaches versus the amount of sand dragged out to sea.
