Lorry Newhouse, Fashion Designer, Shares Her Quirky New York City Penthouse With Panoramic Views (PHOTOS)

Our favorite house tours are ones that truly reflect their owners. And the Manhattan penthouse of fashion designer and philanthropist Lorry Newhouse and her husband Mark, a publishing executive, is definitely one of them. We see a strong common thread between the clothing line Newhouse launched in 2011 and the whimsical patterns and colors found in her home, which she shared with Architectural Digest.

Purchased in 1993, Newhouse has filled the duplex with antiques from trips to Europe that she discovered with her artistic eye. Interior designer Rain Phillips helped make her visions a reality, though the space had an amazing foundation -- it was originally designed by notable decorator Rose Cumming. Newhouse opted to keep many of Cumming's touches, like the green hand-painted Italian doors. Her own additions, like the wallpapered ceilings, bold colors, such as the yellow dining room and bright turquoise bedroom and quirky pieces enhance the eclectic feeling. But one of the best parts of the home is clearly the sweeping view of the city from the terrace.

Be sure to head over to Architectural Digest to see more.
