The Bureau Of General Services Queer Division, NYC Bookstore, Turns To Indiegogo To Fund Permanent Home

A NYC Queer Bookstore Needs Your Help!

Book stores are an endangered species these days and queer book stores like the Oscar Wilde Memorial Bookshop and A Different Light, both of which recently closed their doors in New York City, are becoming especially rare.

In the shadow of these troubling events, another queer book store, The Bureau of General Services - Queer Division, is looking for a permanent home.

After leaving its temporary home in the Strange Loop Gallery in lower Manhattan, BGSQD turned to Indiegogo to help raise funds for a permanent home. Currently they've raised $11,000 of their $50,000 goal and with four days left before the campaign ends, they need your help to make sure the gay book store doesn't go the way of the dodo.

Like most public fundraisers there are perks for making a donation to their Indiegogo campaign including tote bags, art books, photographs and collages. Head on over to their Indiegogo page for more information on how to donate to their cause and help keep queer history alive through one of Manhattan's best independent book stores.
