Undercover Cops At Seahawks Games Will Wear Opponents' Gear

Seahawks Undercover Cops To Wear Opponents' Gear

Seattle Seahawks fans might want to treat those wearing 49ers gear at CenturyLink Field on Sunday nicer than they usually would. The team announced on Wednesday that undercover cops in the stadium will be wearing opponents' gear.

"We have great fans. Our goal is to ensure a safe environment for all in attendance, including visiting team fans," said Seahawks president Peter McLoughlin, per the team's official website.

Seattle police announced shortly before Week 1 that undercover cops will patrol Seahawks games after receiving multiple reports of unruly fan-behavior last season.

Police said they will be looking for fans taking rivalries too far, via the Associated Press.

After the 49ers played at CenturyLink field in 2012, two fans sent The Seattle Times emails detailing violent behavior they witnessed.
