Slow-Motion Ping Pong Ball Explosion With Liquid Nitrogen Is Surprisingly Beautiful (VIDEO)

WATCH: Don't Try This At Home, Folks

Ever wonder what happens when you drop a bottle of liquid nitrogen into a bucket full of ping pong balls? Check it out in the video above. You'll be blown away.

Distort's David Prager and Mauricio Balvanera "take advantage of the rapidly changing states of being that liquid nitrogen has." Basically, liquid nitrogen expands incredibly quickly from liquid to gas -- so confining it to a small bottle can create a lot of pressure.

The Distort guys may not be the first to combine ping pong balls and liquid nitrogen, but the video of this experiment is extra-special -- because it's in slow motion.
