Remodel To Give Fresh Start To Paralyzed Navy Officer Who Also Just Came Out

SAN DIEGO – A paralyzed Navy officer from San Diego will be getting a helping hand from a group of local college students and volunteers, who are planning an extensive remodel to make his house suitable for his needs as a disabled homeowner and veteran.

As soon as he was able, Delaney turned over command of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) to Cmdr. Stephen James Ilteris during an April 11 ceremony at Naval Base San Diego, which is the homeport of the ship.
