Last month it was announced that Ben Affleck will play Batman in the upcoming Superman movie "Man of Steel." Fans and critics were quick to criticize the casting, going so far as to start a petition on Change.org asking that the role be recast.

The petition took issue with Affleck's acting ability and his physical appearance, saying, "His acting skill is not even close to being believable as Bruce Wayne and he won't do the role justice. He's not built, nor is he intimidating enough for the role of Batman. His portrayal of Daredevil was atrocious and he's not remotely close to an action star. Please find someone else."

The petition, which currently has 94,043 signatures, is hardly the first of its kind. Fans have taken to using Change.org for a variety of far-fetched petitions including asking other roles to be recast and asking certain artists to stop making music. Take a look at a sampling of entertainment-related petitions below.

"'X-Factor' & MTV: Stop Ruining The Music Industry": "There are hundreds of thousands of talented, hard working acts across the country that fail to garner any recognition as artists due to the approach the general public take towards music. The mindless masses wish for short, catchy, brainless pop music... And that is all. Programs like 'X-Factor' play a major part in this; producing talentless crud that in turn all achieve infamy as one hit wonders. MTV is equally to blame, "video surely has killed the radio star." Gone are the days of real music. This needs to be stopped once and for all."

"Hollywood: Stop Remaking Classic Movies": "Classic movies are classic for a reason and hollywood seems to have forgotten why. We enjoy them not for the stunning visualizations or fast paced actions with explosions, or sexy people having sex everywhere. Movies become classics by have such rich stories that grab you and don't let go. Hollywood is butchering these films by trying to add modern day aspects to all of them, destroying the story and shaming the classic status."

"Kanye West: Write And Perform A Song Called 'Binders Full of Women'": "This would just basically be awesome, and I kinda think Yeezy would do it."

"Hollywood: Stop Taking Books And Turning Them Into Movies": "The beauty of reading the book is to create an image in your mind and create the characters based completely on your imagination and the description given to you by the author. By doing this, not only is reading discouraged because now people can get a cheap version of the story in just two hours, but it also takes that away. It's insulting to the writer as well and the readers because now the story they love is being twisted and corrupted. I'm tired of standing by and letting this happen to my favorite books."

"2013 STOP CIARA FROM MAKING MUSIC CAMPAIGN": "We can't deal with anymore flops in the industry!"

"Michael Bay: Stop Making Movies: Specifically 'TMNT'": "He makes horrible movies except for 'The Island' which was pretty badass at the start but almost fell apart at the end, but the rest have all been crap. This means out of his 16 big movies released so far he is currently batting at 6% rate. WTF you are done, please retire and let someone with actual vision and passion make the movies from our childhoods."

"ABC Family: Stop Playing Non-Christmas Crap During the 25 Days of Christmas": "Just because Pixar movies and the Harry Potter films are good does NOT mean that they are related in Christmas in any way, shape or form. By playing these movies, you take valuable time away from such timeless nation gems as 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,' 'Miracle on 34th Street' and 'Holiday in Handcuffs' starring Melissa Joan Hart & Mario Lopez."

"Justin Bieber: Stop Making Music": "I hate it when my ears are ruined by this ridiculous excuse of an artist. AUTOTUNED."
