Close to fifteen years after she released her first album, Britney Spears is still going strong in her career.

The 31-year-old singer recently announced that she will be heading to Las Vegas for a two-year residency at the city's Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Friday, beginning Dec. 27. In the days since the tickets have gone on sale, Spears has already sold 70,242 of the available 73,600 tickets, TMZ reports.

The ticket sales were seemingly unaffected by recent reports that Spears will be lip-syncing throughout the shows. An unnamed source told the New York Daily News this week, “Britney does not sing. She is being paid a lot of money to lip-sync. Her fans are none the wiser, but it is disingenuous of her to take their cash and not deliver a proper performance."

Spears is set to kick off her residency after the release of her latest album. The currently unnamed project is scheduled to hit stores on Dec. 3. Earlier this month, Spears debuted a new single called "Work Bitch," which is expected to lead the upcoming album.

Fans can purchase tickets to Spears' Las Vegas shows through Ticketmaster.
