After serving in Afghanistan, Master Sgt. Joseph Martel wanted to surprise his son, Justin, upon his early return home. He ended up choosing a venue for the reunion that his son would never have expected.
According to KNUE.com, the soldier showed up to Justin's football game in Brussels, Belgium dressed up as a player from the opposing team. At the end of the game, Martel revealed himself to his son at the 50-yard line by removing his helmet. Watch Justin's priceless reaction in the video above.
Justin isn't the only high school student who's made headlines because of a heartwarming surprise by a military family member. Earlier this year, high school senior Garrett Anderson, was stunned when his father, who had been in Afghanistan for 10 months, handed him his diploma at graduation.
That same month, high school senior Taylor Earlyvine's graduation also had extra special meaning when her Marine brother, Evan, appeared at the ceremony to see his sister walk across the stage.
"I was so surprised and shocked. I had no idea. As soon as I saw him, I was like oh my God," Taylor told Fox 10 News.
