Rob Lowe To Star In 'The Pro' For NBC After 'Parks And Recreation' Exit

Rob Lowe is set to star in "The Pro" for NBC after his upcoming "Parks and Recreation" exit, according to Deadline.

The Peacock network has reportedly given a production commitment to "The Pro," a single-camera workplace comedy that Lowe will star in and executive produce. Pete Huyck and Alex Gregory ("The Larry Sanders Show," "Frasier") are set to write the pilot and serve as showrunners, while Todd Holland will direct.

If the show is picked up to series, Lowe will play "former tennis doubles champion 'Big Ben' Bertrahm, whose career flame-out and misguided investments have left him working as the pro at a tennis and golf club, where he tries to hustle and charm his way back into America’s 1%." It will be co-produced by ABC Studios and Universal TV.

Lowe will leave "Parks and Rec," along with Rashida Jones, in Episode 13 of Season 6, and can next be seen in National Geographic's "Killing Kennedy" as President John F. Kennedy.
