Yul Vazquez Was Impressed With Ben Affleck's Spanish In 'Runner Runner' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Cuban-American Actor In 'Runner Runner' Talks Ben Affleck's Spanish

“Runner Runner” may be a crime thriller – think illegal gambling set in an exotic locale with some mob-style violence added for extra drama – but when the cameras stopped rolling, actor Yul Vazquez says he and co-stars Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake had their share of fun.

”The boys club of America, the boys club of Puerto Rico,” says Vazquez, who plays Delegate Herrera in the film. “Those guys are fun.”

Exactly how much fun? “They put a snake in my trailer,” teases Vazquez, adding “just kidding. Just stuff involving alcohol and sharks.”

Jokes and high jinks aside, the Cuban American actor says things became serious when it came time to shoot on set in Puerto Rico – especially when Affleck took the cast and director Brad Furman by surprise by insisting on speaking Spanish during one high-stakes scene.
