The Sweetest Proposal To Come Out Of Washington State's Legalization Of Gay Marriage

July 30 started like any other day for Alissa Haslam, but it ended as one she would never forget.

Because that's the day her parter, Jeanne, created the most magical proposal for her.

With the help of a nonprofit for youth democracy called Washington Bus, where Haslam serves as a board member, Jeanne assembled 60 of the couples' friends right outside her office in Seattle.

Significantly, Washington Bus was instrumental in the passage of Referendum 74, which legalized gay marriage in the state.

"I was pulled out of a meeting because of a 'disturbance' on the street," she wrote in the caption of the YouTube video. "Just the night before, we were talking about romance and I pretty much told her she wasn't romantic. I am eating crow...and will be for a long time."

Grab some tissues, and watch the video above to find out what she saw when she looked out the window.
