'Ironside' Canceled: NBC Pulls Plug On Blair Underwood Series

"Ironside" has been canceled. NBC has pulled the Blair Underwood series from its schedule.

According to NBC, "Ironside" will be replaced by new episodes of "Dateline" and holiday-themed specials of "Saturday Night Live" in November and December on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. Kelly Clarkson and Michael Buble holiday specials will also fill the slot on December 11 and December 18, respectively.

"Chicago Fire" spinoff "Chicago PD" takes the timeslot on Wednesday, Jan. 8.

"Ironside" starred Underwood as Detective Robert Ironside. The show was a remake of the 1970s TV series originally starring Raymond Burr. Spencer Grammer and Pablo Schreiber also starred.

A rerun of "Law & Order: SVU" will air on Wednesday, Oct. 30 with new "Datelines" in the slot on Nov. 6, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20. "SNL Thanksgiving" will air on Wednesday, Nov. 27 and "SNL Christmas" will air on Wednesday, Dec. 4 from 9-11 p.m. ET.
