'The Biggest Loser': Father Misses Birth Of Son, Represents On Scale

It was an emotional week for Hap on "The Biggest Loser." The young father of two missed out on the birth of his third child -- and first son -- in order to be on the show. This week, he got a call home and was able to see his newborn son for the first time, along with his wife and daughters.

It was an emotional meeting, though Hap stoically kept his emotions in check. He didn't say a lot as he looked at his baby's face, but he absolutely poured all of that passion into his commitment in the gym that week. As it was a week where one member per team would have his or her weight count for the entire team, Hap was thrilled to see his face come up.

Hap represented the Blue Team, and he did it with gusto. He dropped 13 pounds, absolutely smoking the representatives from the White and Red Teams.

A writer going by the moniker "Jackalz" for Celeb Dirty Laundry has high hopes for the proud papa, writing, "Hap is not taking the opportunity for granted, he wants to work hard to become a champion for his new son and to become the one he knows he is."

In the end, it was the second loss in a row for the White Team. Fernanda was chosen to represent her team, and she only lost 2 pounds. As Jillian Michaels pointed out, had anyone else from her team been chosen, they would have beaten the Red Team representative. Buddy TV's Eva Des Lauriers was disappointed to see her go. "I am bummed that she was sent home because she seems to have a lot of emotional work to do, but sometimes being at home is a better environment for some contestants," she wrote. "Here's hoping she is one of them!”

In a new twist, viewers won't get to see Fernanda's update until the beginning of next week's episode. "The Biggest Loser" continues on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
