Arcade Fire Covers Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day,' 'Satellite Of Love'

Arcade Fire Pays Tribute To Lou Reed

Arcade Fire's ethereal quality is the perfect match for that of Lou Reed, as evidenced in the band's tribute to the late singer. During a live set on NPR, Arcade Fire launched into snippets of two Reed classics, "Perfect Day" and "Satellite of Love." Both maintain the mellow, piano-infused delicacies of Reed's originals, complemented by the smooth vocals of Wan Butler and Régine Chassagne. The set was part of an appearance to promote "Reflektor," which was released on Monday. Arcade Fire are among a host of musicians who've paid tribute to the late singer, including Arctic Monkeys and Morrissey.

Listen to Arcade Fire's entire NPR set below. "Perfect Day" arrives at the 17-minute mark, while "Satellite of Love" enters around 22 minutes in.
