George Clooney was recently spotted with an unknown woman, who is now being revealed as Amal Alamuddin, a lawyer representing WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.
Clooney and the "mystery woman" were seen leaving Berners Tavern restaurant in London on Oct. 24 together. E! News then reported that the woman was Alamuddin, a trilingual attorney who was voted No. 1 on London's Hottest Barrister list of 2013.
Specializing in international law and human rights, she is currently representing Assange in the extradition proceedings for Sweden v. Assange.
Clooney's name actually came up in a WikiLeaks diplomatic cable in 2010. Apparently, Clooney was part of a handful of stars, along with shows, who are more effective at preventing Jihad than the U.S. government funded station, Al-Hurra, The Hollywood Reporter noted. His movie, "Michael Clayton," was specifically mentioned.
Still, romance might not actually be blossoming between the 52-year-old and Alamuddin.
Us Weekly claims the A-list actor is actually dating Croatian model Monika Jakisic, and that the high-profile lawyer is "just a friend" and their evening together was "non-romantic."
"Monika and George are dating," a source said of the pair, who first hooked up back in 2004. "She's not his official 'girlfriend' yet, but they've become very close. She has been seeing George almost every night."
Rumors of Clooney's new romance(s) come on the heels of his split from Stacy Keibler. They broke up in July after two years together.
UPDATE: Clooney denied the recent rumors to People magazine, and his rep went one step further by defending each of the women.
"George wants this Monika crap to stop," she said. "He wants Katie to get a break, and he wants Amal to be able to prosecute cases without being hassled because she had one dinner with George and four others … I even asked George if these [rumors] were true and he said he never comments on his private life, but in the interest of stopping the harassment of all three of these women, he felt he should."
