'The Middle' Teaches Brick How To Use Social Media By Keeping It Simple

'The Middle' Teaches Us To Keep It Simple On Social Media

It's tough to know how to navigate first crushes and those awkward teenage years. But it's even tougher in today's modern world with social media the dominant way young people communicate. Maybe that's why Brick's entire family got involved when he started chatting with a girl he was interested in on "The Middle."

He needed their help after he apologized for not getting back to the girl by telling her he had diarrhea. Everybody jumped in, telling him to quickly send that he was joking. But then, they weren't sure how to reel her in. When the girl asked Brick how he was doing, he got a million suggestions, but only one of them was the right answer.

It was big brother Axl who came through, telling Brick that "the correct response to "What are you doing?" is "Nothin'."

Sometimes simple is better. "The Middle" airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
