Stoke Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic's Goal Against Southampton Made Him Feel 'A Little Bit Bad' (VIDEO)

WATCH: Goalkeeper Scored Historic 100-Yard Goal

Asmir Begovic actually felt badly after becoming just the fifth goalkeeper to score a goal in Premier League history. He hadn't meant to make his opposite number look quite so foolish. Just 12 seconds after the opening whistle on Saturday, Begovic gave Stoke City a stunning lead over Southampton after his 104-yard clearance took an unexpected bounce over the head of Artur Boruc. Aside from being a rare score by a goalkeeper, it was also the fourth-fastest Premier League goal ever scored, according to Goal.com.

Obviously, it's a cool feeling but it's just a fortunate incident for us," Begovic said after Stoke and Southampton finished a 1-1 draw. "Obviously, it was a long ball that got caught in the wind, took a wicked bounce and, obviously, went over Artur Boric and I feel a little bit bad for him. It's not a nice thing being on the receiving end of those as a goalkeeper. But, on the other hand, it's nice for us."
