'ANTM' Finale: Did A Guy Win For First Time Ever?

For the first time ever, a guy had the chance to win "America's Next Top Model." It was down to 19-year-olds Jourdan Miller and Marvin Cortes in the season finale of the long-running reality show's first mixed gender season. but could Marvin pull off the victory?

Nope. Jourdan came out on top, and for her victory she got a nice backhanded compliment from Tyra Banks. "Jourdan, you’re amazing! I wanted a boy to win so bad! But you killed it on that runway," Banks said. "And then, when I was photographing you, it was undeniable.”

For her win, Jourdan landed a modeling contract with Guess. And for the record, she told Entertainment Weekly that she didn't expect to win, either. "I remember standing there and thinking, ‘It has to be a guy. They want something exciting to happen.’" she said. "Not that me winning isn’t exciting. But I think that me winning is definitely going to throw everybody off, because they’re not expecting it. I just remember standing there thinking, ‘It’s gonna be Marvin, it’s gonna be Marvin. There’s nothing I can do.’”

Zap2It's Andrea Reiher was also surprised a guy didn't win, but acknowledged that Jourdan was clearly the best model this season. Maybe it went this way in part because the guys will get another chance to triumph. As Zap2It's Jennifer Lind-Westbrook pointed out, "ANTM" has been renewed for another co-ed cycle set for 2014.
