Lamar Odom Returning To Clippers? Doc Rivers Confirms Meeting With Forward

Lamar Odom and the Los Angeles Clippers might be on the verge of reuniting, according to multiple reports.

Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported on Friday that Odom met with Clippers head coach Doc Rivers and other members of the organization after practice. The meeting lasted nearly two hours, according to Spears. Rivers confirmed the meeting on Saturday.

"I've always had interest in him. I've always liked him. The teams he has played on, the coaches who have coached him have always liked him… I hadn't seen him. I just wanted to see him," Rivers said, per Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times. "It really was I just wanted to see him physically and see how he was doing. He looked good. He looked great. He looked like his weight was way down and in good shape. But that doesn't mean a lot."

An unnamed source told Marc Stein of on Friday that "I wouldn't say a deal [with the Clippers] is imminent, but I'd be surprised if it doesn't happen."

Citing anonymous sources, ESPN's Ramona Shelburne and Stein reported on Thursday that both the Clippers and Los Angeles Lakers would consider signing Odom if he proved "that his personal and legal issues are behind him." Odom made headlines over the summer due to allegations of drug use and a DUI arrest.
