Gay Parenting Is Just Parenting: YourTango Panelists Sound Off

How Children Can Benefit From Being Raised By Gay Parents

Gay parenting remains a hot-button issue throughout much of the U.S. and the world over.

Relationship and dating experts and coaches Frankie Bashan, Rick Clemons, J. Cameron Gantt and Mary Malia joined YourTango for an introspective debate focused on the subject of same-sex parenting.

"I think our children -- and your children -- are having the opportunity to grow up more tolerant of difference, and less afraid of somebody who isn't just like them," Malia, who was in a heterosexual marriage before coming out, said.

Clemons, who says he came out "late in life," said of his children: "I don't see there having been any ill effect [by being raised by a gay parent] ... Our kids are what they are."
