Consumer advocate Erin Brockovich joined me on Mondays with Marlo to talk about her beliefs on government interference with the water supply in the US.
Water, Erin points out, is a commodity. "Soon, it will be more valuable than oil," she said, "and it will be game over for us if we continue to jeopardize our own water supply."
Erin believes there is a dangerous corporate mentality of deception at play. The corporate mentality of hiding problems instead of fixing them is highly problematic, according to Erin. "That seed of deception will be everyone's downfall."
That mentality may have worked in the 1960s, Erin pointed out, but it won't work in 2013 and beyond. Erin believes that on a consumer level, it's important that we help change this corporate mentality on contamination and pollution. "It's vital to sustain our business and economy," she said.
